Job description

As a member of the Wealth Management and Advisory Services (WMAS) Division, serves as a proactive, client-focused trusted financial partner to clients through a seamless delivery of investment, trust, and fiduciary services. Participates in business development efforts by identifying referrals and prospects and calling on relationship clients/prospects to achieve sales goals. Provides high quality customer service while assuring bank and division profitability and fiduciary standards are met. Regular, reliable attendance is required. Acts as lead advisor to clients in the coordination and administration of complex fiduciary assignments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Relationship Management/Client Service:
  • Coordinates and oversees complete client relationship.
  • Maintains responsibility for retaining and expanding a specific book of relationships, maintaining knowledge of the intricacies of each account or relationship as needed in order to provide superior service to Bank clients.
  • Manages and develops a profitable book of business by designing and implementing various strategies based on the needs, goals and fiduciary requirements of each client relationship.
  • Responsible for understanding all banking and financial needs of relationship clients including all products and services offered by the Bank (Commercial, Investments, International Banking, Private Banking, Real Estate, Cash Management, etc). Works with various product specialists to help ensure an integrated and seamless approach to servicing the client.
  • Formulates and implements strategies based on client needs and preferences and ensures a consistently high level of client service by experience understanding financial goals of each client.
  • Monitors changing client investment and financial objectives; periodically re-evaluates client needs and determines if other service and sales opportunities exist.
  • Quickly and efficiently resolves problems brought by principals, beneficiaries, remaindermen, and others.
  • Participates in client relationship planning, especially for key relationships.
  • Sets and monitors proactive client contact standards for each individual client relationship.
  • Understands the application of technology for client service, communications and management for a book of relationships.
  • Obtains and maintains current client profile information and any other critical information necessary to successfully manage the relationship.
  • Keeps abreast of new products, methods/techniques, key industry trends, conditions and changes in laws and regulatory policies.
  • Ensures an effective working relationship with other Bank personnel as required to perform client support and sales functions.

Sales/Business Development:
  • Proactively investigates opportunities for expanding market share and making business more profitable, with particular attention to identifying prospective clients and additional financial needs among present clients.
  • Responsible for marketing products and services including preparing for client calls, making sales calls, and call follow-up. Identifies opportunities and continually prospects for new clients. Generates leads through existing relationships.
  • Introduces and cross-sells new and existing bank products.
  • Implements client specific communication plans to establish and maintain excellent client relationships and identify client needs.
  • Takes a leadership role in community affairs and activities where warranted for effective business development and community exposure.
  • Develops strategies to engage in presentations.
  • Maintains and develops internal and external professional relationships.
  • Ensures sales and pipeline reports are properly completed on a timely basis.

Risk Management:
  • Controls and minimizes potential risks through proactive relationship management and thorough knowledge of compliance and risk management. Keeps abreast of applicable laws and regulations.
  • Approves client transactions within assigned authority, referring those above the limit and of a policy nature to the next higher level.
  • Remains alert to identify potential fiduciary issues, following up and recommending administrative plans and actions to Trust Administration Committee, implementing same upon approval.
  • Maintains proficiency regarding current Bank and Divisional policies and procedures.
  • Perform compliance and risk management duties as required or assigned.

Other Functions:
  • May supervise and/or delegate tasks to personnel.
  • May have personal responsibility for coaching and developing others.
  • Identifies personal training needs and continuing education to address gaps and needs.
  • Maintains proficiency regarding current Bank systems and software applications
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by management, i.e., completion of various reports, budgeting, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field
  • Work experience in fiduciary relationship management.
  • Proven analytical skills; ability to review and interpret complex data (determining risk, assessing complexity of accounts, etc).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to analyze, synthesize and articulate complex ideas and communicate such to colleagues, team members, and clients
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate with and work effectively with diverse groups of people, managing conflict, negotiating for results and developing working relationships with potential and current clients
  • Ability to set and achieve challenging goals.

COMPENSATION
WMAS Relationship Manager II: $81,260 - $121,890
WMAS Relationship Manager III: $98,977- $148,465
The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position located in Spokane, Washington. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. This position is also eligible to participate in an applicable annual bonus and incentive compensation plan.
