Job description

Allspring is seeking to recruit a Senior Client Relationship Director within our Global Liquidity business who will focus on driving sales activity and relationship management with clients and prospects in the Western region. This individual will report to our Head of Global Liquidity Sales and will work closely with our portfolio management, product, marketing, and service & operations teams to bring the full breadth of the firmโ€™s liquidity capabilities to clients and prospects in a thoughtful, engaging, differentiated and effective manner.

Location(s): California (San Francisco preferred)


  • Developing and executing the institutional liquidity distribution and service strategy within the Western Region with both clients and prospects
  • Understanding the holistic needs of each client and prospect, including all possible pools of investable assets with distinct investment goals, parameters and requirements, by cultivating broad relationships across each organization
  • Securing new business from institutional liquidity investors in the West Region by turning high-profile prospects into clients
  • Cultivating existing client relationships within the Western Region to establish, grow, and retain liquidity management clients
  • Collaborating and partnering seamlessly with regional counterparts and internal partners and stakeholders, to develop superior client engagements and results across regions
  • Maintaining a culture of frequent and direct dialogue with clients and prospects, while understanding their needs, and delivering solutions
  • Understanding and staying current with Allspringโ€™s broader business strategy to drive firm-wide initiatives
  • Deepening the regionโ€™s Allspring presence by driving marketing initiatives and client-focused events (i.e. industry events, a symposium, seminar, etc.) that can enhance and reinforce our brand of being a holistic, independent, best in class partner to our clients

Required Qualifications

  • 15+ years of sales and relationship management experience selling directly to institutional clients; including 10+ years of direct sales experience with institutional liquidity clients
  • Successful track record of sales across both pooled products and separately managed accounts โ€“ specifically with institutional liquidity investors
  • Experience and success in assisting clients and prospects with investment policy creation and updates
  • Deep book of contacts in the Western region of the liquidity/short-duration market
  • Deep knowledge of fixed income markets and the liquidity landscape including products, competitors, platforms and regulations
  • Ability to travel up to 65% of the time
  • FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses are required
  • Remain in stationary position for prolonged periods of time
  • Operate computer programs and software
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences in person and in electronic formats
  • Day-to-day contact with others (co-workers and/or public)
  • Ability to work in a collaborative business environment in close quarters with peers and varying interruptions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of the asset management industry, trends, as well as a broad range of complex investment products and solutions
  • Strong, demonstrated sales and relationship management skills
  • Track record of intellectual curiosity

Base Pay Range: $200,000 - $300,000

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary bonus programs, or other annual or non-annual incentive or sales plans.)
