Title: Account Executive-Public Relations and Marketing Communications
Hours: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm
Location: Onsite in Beaverton, OR
Type: Direct Hire
Salary Range: $62K-$65K
Nereus, a VTM Group company, is a full-service strategic communications firm and is seeking an Account Executive to support client programs.
The Account Executive (AE) plays a key role in client management, media engagement, and integrated communications campaign execution. This position requires a team player with initiative, critical thinking, and the ability to drive results through effective communication and project management. The AE will serve as a primary client contact while leading internal teams in executing integrated public relations and marketing communications programs.
Responsibilities
Client and Account Management
  • Support client meetings and serve as a client contact.
  • Anticipate client needs, recommend strategic activities, and align efforts with client goals.
  • Lead internal brainstorming sessions and research initiatives to develop strategic recommendations.
  • Support the development of multifaceted, integrated public relations campaigns including press and analyst engagement/coordination, ensuring alignment with client objectives.

Organic Media & Analyst Engagement
  • Build and maintain strong media and analyst relationships through consistent engagement.
  • Identify compelling story angles and conduct proactive media pitching to secure earned media coverage.
  • Support and coordinate virtual and in-person media briefing activities.

Content Development
  • Draft and edit a variety of materials, including press releases, blogs, media pitches, web content, presentations, and project plans.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of social media strategies, including run sheet management, scheduling and platform monitoring.

Project and Event Management
  • Oversee research projects to support client strategies and industry positioning.
  • Manage assigned tasks, delegate responsibilities, and track progress against budgets and timelines.
  • Coordinate media-related events, providing onsite support as needed.
  • Manage award and speaker submissions to enhance client visibility.

Reporting and Strategic Growth
  • Track and report on campaign performance, earned media coverage, and project outcomes based on strategic objectives and metrics.

Professional Development
  • Deepening understanding of client technologies, solutions,media landscape and market positioning.
  • Consistent development of public relations, marketing communications, and industry best practices.
  • Effectively manage vendor relationships and external projects
  • Identify upsell opportunities by recognizing client needs and industry trends.

Requirements
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or a related field (preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience in a public relations and/or marketing communications agency or corporate PR or marketing communications role.

Skills and Tools
  • General knowledge of relevant media outlets, press contacts, and industry analysts.
  • Experience in pitching press/analysts and scheduling briefings, resulting in earned media coverage.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with proficiency in AP style.
  • Proven ability to manage time, projects, and competing priorities effectively.
  • Comfortable presenting to peers, supervisors, clients, and small groups.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and basic design tools.
