SUMMARY:
The Assistant Studio Manager is responsible for supporting all day-to-day studio operations while leading, coaching, and developing a high-performing team. This position works closely with the Owner to oversee employee development, client experience, operational excellence, marketing initiatives, and business performance.
Hours: up to 40 hours a week
 Shifts: To be determined, but weekends and evenings are to be expected
 Location: 6011 Watson Blvd, Warner Robins, GA 31008

This is a hands-on leadership position requiring a balance of service excellence and operational management. The Assistant Studio Manager will spend approximately:
  • 50% of their time performing waxing services and building client relationships.
  • 50% of their time managing studio operations, employee development, training, and business performance.
The selected candidate must successfully complete both the Waxing the City Cerologist Training Program and the Management Training Program. The Assistant Studio Manager must become proficient in all waxing services offered by Waxing the City and be capable of coaching, mentoring, and developing Cerologists to meet company standards.
This position requires accessibility and leadership presence and serves as a key resource for employees, clients, and ownership.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Serve as the first-line supervisor for Cerologists® and front desk team members.
  • Manage onboarding, training, coaching, and ongoing employee development.
  • Conduct performance discussions, goal-setting meetings, and accountability conversations.
  • Foster a positive, supportive, and results-oriented culture.
  • Assist with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, scheduling, and employee retention.
  • Create a learning environment that promotes professional growth and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all staff members are operating according to company standards and state licensing requirements.
Cerologist Training & Service Excellence
  • Successfully complete Waxing the City Cerologist Certification Training.
  • Successfully complete Management Training.
  • Perform professional face and body waxing services.
  • Maintain proficiency in all Waxing the City service protocols.
  • Serve as a role model for service quality, professionalism, and client care.
  • Train, coach, and develop Cerologists to achieve service excellence.
  • Assist with certification, skill development, and ongoing education of service providers.
Client Acquisition, Experience & Retention
  • Deliver a luxury client experience that exceeds expectations.
  • Support client acquisition and retention initiatives.
  • Drive Club Orange Membership growth and retention.
  • Build strong client relationships and resolve concerns professionally.
  • Support studio goals related to client satisfaction and loyalty.
Operations & Studio Management
  • Assist with all day-to-day studio operations.
  • Manage inventory levels and ordering processes.
  • Ensure compliance with Georgia State Board of Cosmetology regulations and company policies.
  • Oversee salon cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards.
  • Manage cleaning checklists and treatment room maintenance.
  • Identify and report facility or equipment issues.
  • Execute company initiatives, promotions, and operational programs.
Marketing, Community Engagement & Public Relations
  • Support local marketing initiatives and community partnerships.
  • Assist with studio social media efforts.
  • Promote brand awareness within the local community.
  • Execute system-wide promotions and events.
  • Represent Waxing the City in a professional and positive manner.
Financial Performance
  • Support the achievement of revenue, membership, retail, and service goals.
  • Assist with P&L management and financial accountability.
  • Monitor productivity, staffing efficiency, and operational performance.
  • Contribute to the overall profitability and growth of the studio.
ROLE SCOPE AND COMPLEXITY
This role ensures that the studio is operating efficiently, the client experience consistently exceeds expectations, employees receive proper training and development, and the business operates profitably.
The Assistant Studio Manager is responsible for helping ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, franchise standards, and licensing requirements. This individual plays a critical role in developing team members, driving business growth, and maintaining the high standards that define the Waxing the City brand.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Required
  • Current Georgia Esthetician or Cosmetology License.
  • Previous hands-on waxing experience.
  • Ability and willingness to become proficient in all Waxing the City waxing services.
  • Ability and willingness to complete Waxing the City Cerologist Certification Training.
  • Ability and willingness to complete Management Training.
  • Minimum Associate Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership or management experience.
  • Beauty industry experience.
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in employee performance management and operational oversight.
Preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 5+ years of beauty industry or salon management experience.
  • 5+ years of staff leadership and business management experience.
  • 3+ years of franchise management experience.
  • Experience training and developing service providers.
