Client Relations Support information

What is client relations support?

Client Relations Support professionals are responsible for assisting customers and clients by addressing their inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive experience with a company’s products or services. They act as a liaison between the client and the company, handling communication, managing client accounts, and providing support throughout the customer journey. Their goal is to build and maintain strong, long-term relationships that foster client satisfaction and loyalty.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as client relations support?

To thrive as a Client Relations Support, you need strong communication skills, customer service experience, and a good understanding of client management principles, often supported by a relevant associate's or bachelor's degree. Familiarity with CRM software, ticketing systems, and productivity tools like Microsoft Office is typically required. Exceptional problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a positive, proactive attitude help professionals excel in this client-facing role. These skills ensure efficient resolution of client issues, foster strong relationships, and contribute to overall customer satisfaction and retention.

What are some common challenges faced by client relations support, and how can they effectively address them?

Client Relations Support professionals often encounter challenges such as managing multiple client inquiries simultaneously, resolving conflicts, and ensuring timely follow-up on client requests. Effectively addressing these challenges involves strong organizational skills, clear communication, and proactive problem-solving. Collaborating closely with sales, account management, and technical teams can help ensure client needs are met efficiently. Regular training on product knowledge and customer service best practices also plays a crucial role in overcoming daily hurdles and fostering positive client relationships.

  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to team initiatives
  • Foundational understanding of global equity investing, investment manager selection, and asset allocation concepts
  • Willingness to travel as needed (typically less than 10%)
  • Series 7 and 63 licenses preferred (or willingness to obtain; firm-sponsored)
  • Progress toward or interest in pursuing the CFA designation a plus

The annual base salary range for this position is $85,000–$95,000. The firm's total compensation program includes an annual base salary, an annual discretionary performance-based bonus, a remunerative long-term incentive plan, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance; a 401(k) retirement plan; paid time off; a flexible spending account (FSA) program; and access to various wellness and employee assistance programs.
