Position Summary

Join J. J. Keller as the leader of our Transportation Consulting Practice and play a key role in helping organizations improve transportation safety and compliance. As Senior Consulting Manager, you'll drive the strategy, growth, and overall success of a nationally recognized consulting practice while leading a team of experienced professionals.

In this role, you'll partner with teams across Sales, Marketing, Product Management, and Operations to develop solutions, strengthen client relationships, and drive business growth. You'll have the opportunity to influence the direction of the practice, develop your team, and deliver exceptional results for clients and the business.

While leading the practice, you'll also stay connected to the industry through select consulting engagements, safety assessments, training, and client advisory work. This is an excellent opportunity for a transportation safety leader who enjoys building teams, growing a business, and making a meaningful impact on the organizations and industries we serve.

Job Responsibilities
  • Leads, develops and coaches teams and leaders:
    •    Sets clear and challenging expectations, feedback and recognition
    •    Manages client and associate relations issues
    •    Manages and participates in the staff hiring/selection process
    •    Writes and conducts performance evaluations and progress reports
  • Delivers results in line with the following key metrics/accountabilities:
    •    Service line revenue and gross margin objectives
    •    Client satisfaction and retention standards
    •    Associate retention
    •    Budget control
  • Directs the fulfilment of client agreements in a timely manner consistent with client and business expectations.
  • Identifies and leads the development of new, and enhances existing J. J. Keller proprietary solution offerings in collaboration with Product Management, Marketing, R&D, Sales, and other stakeholders.
  • Directs the sales support function to provide pricing, capabilities, and technical support for the sales team to help close new contracts.
  • Establishes effective relationships with sales leadership to deliver sales objectives for practice by sales channel.
  • Manages Business Process Improvement initiatives to improve internal processes to support the business.
  • Manages logistics of fulfilling client agreements in a timely manner consistent with client expectations, utilizing internal and external resources.
  • Performs billable consulting work for customers, to include safety audits, assessments, and training.
  • Manages subscription-based Safety & Compliance Program for assigned clients.
  • Works with sales professionals to develop proposals and assist with client presentations.
  • Demonstrates leadership as an industry expert and guides staff on client engagements.
  • Carries out responsibilities in a fair, ethical and non-discriminatory manner and ensure that staff follows these same guidelines.
  • Enforces and supports all company policies and procedures. Fully supports the company's commitment to safety and the environment and strive to maintain a clean, healthy and safe workplace.
Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Certified Transportation Safety Professional certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience and a strong working knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
  • 7+ years of experience in a consulting regulatory role. 
  • Experience developing strategic growth plans is preferred.  
  • Experience managing a full P&L is preferred.  
  • Experience managing a consulting practice is desirable.

Keller provides a competitive benefit package which includes the following (eligibility requirements apply):  Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance, 401(k) and Profit Sharing Plan, etc. The compensation range for this role is $140,000.00 to $155,000.00 which varies depending on factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s overall experience and geographic location.
