Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal/Senior Principal Project Manager. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program.

What You'll Get To Do:

Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • ScrumMaster for Test and Systems Teams: Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and backlog grooming. Remove impediments and ensure the team adheres to Agile best practices.

  • iPMR Preparation and Briefings: Draft, review, and present Integrated Program Management Reviews (iPMRs) to leadership.

  • JIRA Administration (as required): Create and maintain user stories, tasks, and defects.Generate reports and dashboards to provide visibility into sprint progress and team performance.

  • Financial Metrics & SMT Support: Assist with the collection, analysis, and reporting of budgetary and cost-performance metrics.Contribute to Supplier Management Team (SMT) briefings on financial health and forecast accuracy.

  • Supplier & GSC Issue Coordination: Coordinate with suppliers and Global Supply Chain (GSC) contacts to resolve logistics, delivery, and quality concerns.Track issue resolution status and ensure timely communication to stakeholders.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Principal Project Manager: 5 Years experience with Bachelors; 3 Years with Masters; 1 Year with PhD; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

  • Sr Principal Project Manager: 8 Years experience with Bachelors; 6 Years with Masters; 4 Year with PhD; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

  • Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application with an investigation completed within the last 6 years.

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company to meet its business need.

  • At least 4 years of experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to establish a solid working relationship with technical staff, peers, and customers.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management principles and execution of large projects.

  • Proficiency in creating, maintain and utilizing metrics in excel, and SharePoint. Strong data analytic skill set required.

  • Proficient in working with global supply chain, suppliers, & authoring SSOW/supplier contracts.

  • Experience with managing material work packages withing an EVMS program structure, both high dollar and PERT.

  • Experience with SAP/S4.

  • Experience working within an Integrated Product Team (IPT).

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).

  • Capable of working with minimal direction, independently determines and develops technical objectives of assignments, and presents work upon completion for high level review.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline from an ABET-accredited university.

  • PMP Certification.

  • Active SAP access.

  • Experience in agile environment leveraging Jira & Confluence.

  • Experience as a SCRUM master inside an engineering environment.

  • Active DoD Top Secret security clearance with investigation completed within the last 6 years.

  • Experience with Weapon Systems, Missile/Rocket Systems, or DOD programs.

Primary Level Salary Range: $81,400.00 - $122,000.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $101,400.00 - $152,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
