EAD Engineering is looking for an experienced Staff Project Manager for projects in industrial, processing, institutional and commercial facilities. The Staff Project Manager is responsible for leading cross-functional teams of process/business experts, engineers, and designers to deliver mid-size to large client projects on time, on budget and in scope, and serves as a client point of contact on assigned projects under the oversight of senior project management.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure projects are delivered under budget, within schedule, within the agreed-to scope and with a great customer experience
  • Lead small to mid-size teams consisting of various engineering disciplines and other project support personnel
  • Responsible for maintaining appropriate project documentation in the proper locations
  • Manage client's project expectations and requirements
  • Understand and perform critical path analysis
  • Sign client/firm agreement, if legally qualified within the limits of EAD signatory policy
  • Maintains understanding of project financial issues
  • Authorizes billing to client, subject to Project Manager or Managing Director review as required
  • Responsible for project reporting including resource utilization and project profitability
  • Accountable for project costs, schedules, performance and safety
  • Responsible for communications, escalations and resolving moderately complex client issues, escalating highly complex issues to senior project management
  • Act as a point of contact to the client, project managers and company executives on assigned projects
  • Tracking and delivering project metrics
  • Mentoring and coaching Associate Project Managers and other project support staff
  • Report into Project Managers and senior management
  • Lead multiple, mid-size to large, multi-disciplinary projects
  • Responsible for adhering to all EAD's safety standards and practices
  • Lead preparation of proposals including scope definition, schedule development and budget estimates for small to mid-size pursuits
  • Provide marketing support and assistance
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Construction, or Civil Engineering and five to seven years of relevant working experience with advanced knowledge in mechanical engineering, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Five to seven years of experience in project management/execution with an understanding of standard project management processes/procedures
  • PMP certified or committed to obtain the certification within 12 months
  • High level interpersonal skills, tact, and diplomacy
  • Ability to manage small to mid-size, and some large, projects
  • Proficient in executing fast tracked projects
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to meet project deadlines
  • Scope management and client management skills
  • Engineering consulting firm experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, while being capable of interacting effectively with plant operations from the maintenance level through and including the executive level
  • Proven track record of accomplishments as a project manager, senior project engineer, or lead engineer on industrial projects and capable of supervising and directing a team of engineers, contractors, and vendors
  • Working knowledge of excel including macros
  • Self-starter with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task while working on numerous projects simultaneously at various stages of completion
  • Ability to support business development opportunities
  • Possess and able to maintain a valid driver's license
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office, MS Project required

Preferred Certifications and skills:

  • Experience in working with food manufacturing, life sciences, bioprocess and/or petrochemical companies, construction of large industrial plants, or power stations will be advantageous

  • Ability to walk up numerous flights of stairs/ladders multiple times a day and/or work in tight spaces in extreme conditions
  • May work near moving mechanical parts and equipment*
  • Office, Commercial and/or Industrial setting with the potential of exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals*
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.*
