Mead & Hunt's Food & Beverage group is pleased to share an opportunity for a Client Project Manager within our packaging department. The preferred location for this role is our Champaign, IL office; however, qualified candidates near other office locations will be considered, with the expectation of frequent travel to Champaign.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular site visits, meetings, and strategic engagement.
  • Manage existing clients related to obtaining and executing projects.
  • Understand client organization, capital portfolio, and approval processes to better influence project development.
  • Collect and share client feedback to drive continuous improvement.
  • Proactively assess client needs and resolve issues related to cost, quality, schedule, or resources.
  • Project management, coordination and liaison for project work obtained.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance and advice for less experienced technical staff.
  • Maintain familiarity with technical requirements and regulations affecting the assigned industry and other potential consulting opportunities.
  • Market work within the assigned industry and recognize potential opportunities in the
  • company's other business lines.
  • Maintain contact with current clients and pursue potential new clients within the assigned industry.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Travel:
  • Some travel will be required.
    • For candidates near Champaign, IL office, travel is expected to be approximately 50%.
    • For candidates residing outside of the Champaign area, travel is expected to be approximately 75%.

Successful candidates will have the following:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or similar related field.
  • At least five years of relevant experience required.
  • Experience working for a Food & Beverage company and experience working in a manufacturing/retail packaging facility is preferred.

Ideal candidates will have any/all of the following:
  • Professional presence and confidence when interacting with clients, internal leadership, and external partners.
  • Sufficient technical depth to credibly engage with clients, understand project requirements, and guide technical teams.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills in environments with changing schedules, deadlines, and priorities.
  • Ability to analyze information, define problems, evaluate data, and draw sound conclusions.
  • Strong collaborative skills to coordinate multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Professional judgment and decision-making skills when resolving project or client challenges.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new tools and technologies as they are implemented.
