The 188,000 square property includes an eight-story tower, a commercial kitchen and dining area, 15 apartments, 26-convent, a large chapel and much more.

Summary/Objective

Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Program & Safety Monitor (Monitor) will perform designated clinical tasks that promote the overall health and well-being of clients. Assist in overseeing the daily operation of the Housing Program, ensuring that activities are carried out in a safe, professional manner in safe, trauma-informed, well-maintained facilities. Primarily evening and overnight hours.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide exceptional direct and supportive services to include crisis management, assist with therapeutic activities and the facilitation of groups.
  • Actively monitor the issues occurring in and around the program, including the building premise.
  • When safety concerns for any clients, staff or guests occur, engage in de-escalation practices and a return to safe/secure status, in coordination with the Program Manager, fellow staff and possibly authorities when necessary.
  • Assist in tracking all outcomes according to good practice standards/funder requirements.
  • Perform minor secretarial tasks, including but not limited to answering phone(s), answering door(s), filing, photocopying, responding to emails, maintaining the front desk emergency log, etc.
  • Adhere to medication policies and work collaboratively with nursing staff to ensure all medication protocols are followed accurately and appropriately
  • Complete engagement/documentation notes for each client within program guidelines.
  • Ability to serve clients with dignity and respect, in a non-judgmental way.
  • Attend all regularly scheduled staff meetings.
  • Willingness to take a Trauma Informed approach to addressing clients.
  • Ensure cleanliness and good order of office and facilities.
  • Ensure client compliance with program policies and procedures.
  • Link clients with linens, hygiene supplies, and other stock supplies as requested by clients or staff, as well as outside resources.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are required to perform this job effectively.
  • Monitor CCTV Surveillance cameras as needed.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Program Manager or as dictated by circumstances of growth and/or planning.
  • Use all PPCS required database systems as required by each specific program.


Requirements

Required Education and Experience

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED with 3-4 yearsโ€™ experience working for an agency serving clients experiencing substance abuse, severe and persistent mental illness, dual diagnosis, homelessness, and/or HIV/AIDS OR minimum Associateโ€™s Degree with two yearsโ€™ experience working for an agency serving clients experiencing substance abuse, severe and persistent mental illness, dual diagnosis, homelessness and/or HIV/AIDS.
  • Must have CPR and first aid certification.
  • Med-Level 1 Certification
  • MANDT Training
  • Knowledge of HIPAA/privacy standards and professional boundaries required.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Proficiency with use of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Electronic health/social services documentation preferred.
  • Capability of partnering with and empowering clients served.

Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisor responsibilities.

Work Environment: This position operates in either Labre Center, Garfield Apartments or Positive Directions programs. Monitors are generally assigned to same program for consistency and quality of care however in times of staffing shortages may be asked to fill in at other housing programs.

Physical and Environmental Requirements: Ability to lift and carry at least 10 lbs.

Travel: Travel is primarily local during the business day or no travel at all.
