The Chronicle is seeking a Manager, Accounts & Marketing, to join its Client Services team.

The Account & Marketing Manager owns a portfolio of The Chronicle's corporate and institutional content marketing clients, within The Chronicle’s Advertising division. This role manages the full post-sales relationship and drives the successful execution of marketing and promotional campaigns across our Chronicle Intelligence and Brand Studio product lines. The ideal candidate is equal parts relationship builder, project manager, and hands-on marketer — comfortable serving as the day-to-day face of The Chronicle to clients while coordinating seamlessly across internal teams.

What you’ll do:

Client Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned corporate and institutional clients, delivering a consistently high level of service throughout the campaign lifecycle
  • Lead client kick-off calls and regular check-ins, providing proactive updates on campaign status, milestones, and results
  • Create client-facing deliverables, including timeline decks and program materials, for new content programs
  • Deliver campaign reporting and performance updates to clients on a consistent cadence
  • Flag client risks and concerns early, partnering with the Director on resolution
  • Collaborate with Sales and Operations colleagues to ensure client satisfaction and support renewal and upsell efforts.

Project Management

  • Build and manage campaign timelines in the project management system to ensure that deadlines are met.
  • Provide project/campaign updates to Senior Management and other stakeholders across Chronicle teams regarding progress of each.
  • Coordinate editorial deadlines for Chronicle Intelligence reports and related content
  • Identify and implement process improvements that accelerate client delivery, elevate service quality, and strengthen communication with internal stakeholders

Marketing

  • Plan, develop and execute campaigns across channels ensuring quality and on-time execution.
  • Build, review, and edit email marketing programs, emails, and landing pages in Marketo
  • Develop and lead cross-channel analysis of specific campaigns to determine effectiveness and share findings.
  • Contribute ideas for product and program improvements based on findings and client feedback.
  • Partner cross-functionally with creative, marketing operations, brand marketing, and sales to optimize tactics and channel performance
  • Partner with cross-functional groups, such as creative services, market research, business operations, sales, advertising operations, and editorial teams, to inform departmental strategic decision-making on marketing programs.
  • Work with sales in an advisory capacity to develop programs that will meet client marketing goals

Qualifications:

  • 5 -10 years of experience in account management, client services, or marketing, ideally in media, publishing, or an agency environment
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple client relationships and campaigns simultaneously
  • Hands-on experience with a marketing automation platform (Marketo strongly preferred) and project management tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present confidently to clients
  • Strong organizational instincts and meticulous attention to detail
  • A collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset and comfort working across editorial, creative, and sales teams
