A leading Building Automation & HVAC integration firm is seeking a motivatedControls Project Manager to oversee BAS and temperature controls projects across the Grand Rapids region.This role is ideal for an experienced Project Managerโ€”or a high-performing Controls Technician/Specialist who is readyto step confidently into project management. Youโ€™ll take ownership of client communication, schedules, budgets, andproject delivery while coordinating teams across engineering, field staff, and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead HVAC and building controls projects from kickoff to closeoutโ€”scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
  • Serve as the main client liaison; manage expectations and proactively resolve issues.
  • Develop estimates, track project financials, and coordinate material procurement.
  • Plan labor resources, manage subcontractors, and support technicians and engineering teams.
  • Perform routine site visits, quality checks, and verify adherence to drawings, specs, codes, and safety.
  • Identify potential risks early and implement mitigation strategies to maintain timelines.
  • Manage full project turnover including documentation, final inspections, and client handoff.
Ideal Candidate
  • Experience as a Project Manager in BAS/HVACโ€”or a Controls Technician/Specialist ready to move into PM work.
  • Strong communication, scheduling, budgeting, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple teams and manage several projects concurrently.
  • Familiar with controls submittals, sequences of operation, and construction-site best practices.
  • Technology environment includes: Alerton, Nova, Trend; service exposure toHoneywell, Johnson Controls, Trane, Carrier, Tridium.
