Job description

About Us

At Office Ally, we've been revolutionizing healthcare administration since our inception. What started as a clearinghouse focused on simplifying insurance claims processing for healthcare providers has grown into a full-suite healthcare technology company. We offer a range of affordable, cloud-based revenue cycle management solutions –from eligibility verification and claims management to revenue recovery and payment processing –that help healthcare organizations of all sizes streamline operations and reduce administrative burdens so they can focus on what matters most: patient care.

In April 2026, Office Ally acquired Jopari Solutions, Inc, a leader in straight-through electronic claims processing for Property & Casualty (P&C), Commercial, and Government healthcare. Jopari brings deep industry expertise and innovative enterprise payment solutions that are transforming how disbursements are handled across the insurance ecosystem. Together, we are expanding our capabilities across the full healthcare transaction lifecycle, connecting claims, payments, and data exchange to deliver a more seamless and efficient experience for providers, payers, and partners.

At the core of our company are four key values that guide our mission and work:

  • Ownership: We take pride in our responsibilities, driving results and taking accountability for the success of our projects.
  • Empowerment: We believe in giving our team the autonomy and support to make decisions that lead to innovative solutions.
  • Innovation: We continuously seek new and better ways to improve healthcare administration, embracing creativity and forward-thinking technology.
  • Transparent Communication: Open, honest communication is at the heart of our collaborations, internally and with our clients, ensuring alignment and trust.

Join a growing company transforming healthcare technology. Jopari delivers innovative solutions for electronic billing, payments, and secure data exchange across the Property & Casualty and Healthcare industries.

As a Senior Implementation Engineer, you will play a critical role in implementing our solutions for customers and ensuring accurate, reliable data flow across complex insurance and healthcare ecosystems.

This is a hands-on implementation engineering role focused on building, configuring, and delivering customer integrations on a Java-based, configuration-driven platform.

This is not a middleware tooling role. The work centers on XML-driven workflow configuration, expression and rules logic, payer API integration, and direct client engagement from scoping through go-live. Java experience is essential for reading, debugging, and extending platform behavior in code.

This position is based in Concord, California. Local candidates are expected to work a hybrid schedule, with at least two days per week in the office. For highly qualified candidates located outside the area, remote work will be considered.

What You'll Do

  • Lead technical scoping conversations directly with clients by conducting discovery sessions, gathering requirements, assessing environments, and defining integration scope before development begins.
  • Translate client requirements into working implementations by configuring XML-driven workflow logic, developing business rules, and extending platform functionality in Java when needed.
  • Build Java code extensions and customizations
  • Own the full client implementation lifecycle: Scoping, Build, Testing, Deployment, and Post-go-live support.
  • Implement X12 835/837 transaction handling logic within a configuration-driven framework, including field-level business rules and payer-specific exceptions.
  • Integrate with REST APIs from payers, clearinghouses, and systems such as Guidewire ClaimCenter and Contact Manager.
  • Read, troubleshoot, and extend Java code to add custom actions, methods, and integrations.
  • Apply Shift Left engineering practices including early validation, automated testing, and continuous quality checks.
  • Build and maintain automated test coverage using Playwright or similar testing frameworks.
  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools (Claude, GitHub Copilot, etc.) to accelerate debugging, analysis, mapping, and implementation efforts.
  • Troubleshoot complex client implementation issues and ensure successful onboarding and long-term production stability.
  • Identify opportunities to improve implementation patterns, automation, tooling, operational efficiency, and data quality.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in software development or healthcare technology
  • 8+ years of object-oriented development experience
  • Java development experience sufficient to read, debug, and extend existing code.
  • Strong SQL skills (Oracle preferred).
  • Experience with XML-based configuration, workflow, or business rules systems.
  • Experience consuming, troubleshooting, and supporting REST APIs.
  • Comfortable leading client-facing technical discussions.
  • Experience implementing and supporting EDI integrations, including ANSI X12 standards and transaction processing.
  • Experience working within Agile development environments.
  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux environments.
  • Experience using Git, Bitbucket, or similar version control systems.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.

Nice to Have

  • Experience integrating with or supporting Guidewire ClaimCenter and Contact Manager in Property & Casualty insurance environments.
  • Familiarity with Guidewire ecosystem concepts including policies, claims workflows, messaging, and integrations.
  • Experience with healthcare transaction processing or clearinghouse operations.
  • Familiarity with XML, JSON, SOAP, and YAML.
  • Exposure to Maven, Gradle, Docker, Kubernetes, and the ELK Stack.
  • Experience using JIRA, Confluence, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude and GitHub Copilot.
  • Experience with Playwright or other modern test automation frameworks.
  • Strong commitment to data privacy and security, including HIPAA, PHI, and PII compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent client implementations independently.

Pay Transparency

Office Ally is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices in alignment with pay transparency laws. Compensation for this position may vary based on individual skills, experience, and location. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for performance-based bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k) with company match, paid time off, and other benefits. Actual compensation will be determined considering the candidate's qualifications, relevant experience, and internal equity.

Office Ally Pay Transparency
$120,000—$150,000 USD

Why You'll Love Working at Office Ally

At Office Ally, your work has a direct impact on healthcare providers and their ability to deliver exceptional care. We're driven by a mission to simplify healthcare administration, making it easier for providers to focus on what they do best—helping patients. As an Office Ally employee, you'll be at the heart of our efforts to deliver exceptional service and software solutions to our clients in the healthcare space.
