Associate, Marketing Strategy & Engagement
Reports to: Senior Manager
Type: Full-time
Location: In-person; Glastonbury, CT


Role Overview

Big Fish Marketing Collective is seeking a motivated, personable Associate to join our Marketing Strategy & Engagement team. This entry-level role offers hands-on experience in outreach, event marketing, project management, and audience strategy while supporting client programs. You will play a central role in identifying and securing event locations that connect brands directly with their target audiences, then helping manage those events from initial outreach through execution.

High performers will have opportunities to take on more client-facing responsibilities, contribute to strategy and process improvements, and grow toward more senior roles over time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage events from initial outreach through execution, including comprehensive planning documents, timelines, staffing, and internal resource coordination
  • Research and identify event locations that align with client goals and target audiences
  • Manage a high volume of phone and email outreach to secure event participation and build strong relationships with location contacts
  • Track outreach activity, responses, bookings, and event details using Monday.com
  • Gather and communicate key event details, including guidelines, permits, and activation requirements
  • Schedule confirmed events and maintain an organized event calendar to ensure program goals are met
  • Participate in project planning with internal teams, external partners, and clients
  • Manage project progress and adapt plans to shifting client priorities
  • Maintain clear notes, recaps, and reporting to support team and client alignment
  • Provide detailed post-project analysis and review
  • Contribute ideas to improve outreach, planning, processes, and targeting strategies
  • Remain flexible during downtime to support additional company projects and needs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience in sales, marketing, communications, events, outreach, or other customer-facing roles preferred
  • Ability to be in Glastonbury, CT office 5 days a week
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Monday.com (willing to learn Monday.com if not trained)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
