Job description

EP Wealth Advisors (EPWA) is a wealth management advisory firm with over $49.1 billion as of June 30, 2026, serving predominately high net worth individuals. The Vice President, Client Development is responsible for driving organic growth across an assigned territory. This role focuses on developing and managing strategic referral and partner relationships, engaging high-quality prospective clients, and collaborating closely with Advisors to ensure a seamless transition and exceptional client experience.

A successful Vice President, Client Development will be a relationship-driven professional with deep experience in wealth management sales, partner programs, and consultative client engagement.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Clearly articulate EP Wealthโ€™s fiduciary value proposition, planning-first philosophy, and full suite of wealth management services to potential clients
  • Own and execute the regional sales strategy to meet or exceed annual revenue and growth targets
  • Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities with HNW/UHNW clients
  • Build and manage a robust pipeline through prospecting, referrals, and strategic partnerships
  • Lead complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles involving retirement, investment, and advisory services
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to deliver tailored client proposals
  • Develop long-term relationships with centers of influence (COIs)
  • Represent the firm at industry conferences, community events, networking events, and client presentations
  • Maintain accurate forecasting, pipeline reporting, and CRM documentation
  • Conduct discovery conversations to understand prospect needs and position tailored EPโ€™s wealth management solutions
  • Lead prospects through the sales process from initial introduction through closing and handoff to advisory teams, while delivering exceptional client experience
  • Operate as a self-directed leader while maintaining alignment with firm-wide growth strategy
  • Lead generation may include, but not limited to:
    • Self-sourced leads
    • EP Wealthโ€™s targeted marketing outreach
    • Custodial partnerships
    • Centers of Influence (COIs)
Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field preferred
  • Series 65 or 66 required, or willing to obtain within 3 months of employment
  • 7+ years of business development, sales, or relationship management experience within wealth management or financial services.
  • Experience working with custodians and professional referral networks preferred
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and comfortable working independently
  • Proven track record of closing complex, high-value deals
  • Strong understanding of retirement plans, investments, or institutional wealth solutions
  • Exceptional executive presence and communication skills
  • Strong financial /investment acumen, negotiation skills, ability to influence, collaborative and ethical
  • Willingness to travel within the assigned territory
