  • As a Client Manager (CM), you will lead teams of Energy Specialists to implement all aspects of the Cenergistic® energy conservation management consulting program in a specific regional portfolio of multiple clients. The CM is a principal point of contact with the client and must be able to manage concurrent relationships adeptly.
  • The CM ensures the program progresses and meets savings projections and serves as the principal Cenergistic point of contact with the client. Works independently and remotely to oversee project planning and staffing, manage the client relationships, and provide front-line escalation for all deployment issues. Liaise with internal corporate stakeholders (client experience, measurement and verification, engineering, product development, and sales team) on opportunities and issues related to their portfolio of clients.

What You'll Do
As a Client Manager, you will:
  • Provide portfolio leadership for all activities related to contracted deployments, including any escalation that might be required. Build and maintain executive level relationships with the clients across the portfolio
  • Assist the assigned sales director(s) with closing new businesses in the region.
  • Assist the assigned client experience director with developing and closing incremental business within the existing portfolio
  • Manage the activities of the Energy Specialists assigned to the client
  • Introducing Energy Specialists to the proprietary program components, procedures, implementation approaches and staff training methodologies inherent to initiating and implementing a successful energy management program
  • Position Energy Specialists to educate the client about the variables impacting cost avoidance and the reconciliation to raw savings
  • Coach teams of Energy Specialists to engage with the client to meet or exceed the projected savings
  • Consult with the Energy Specialist to help client personnel identify & capture energy conservation measures that will drive performance
  • Ensure client satisfaction
  • Manage implementation of the Cenergistic energy program for the client, from the first meeting after the contract is signed throughout the life of the contract.
  • Establish and maintain a highly productive working relationship with key personnel within the client organization, up to and including the chief administrator/CEO
  • Address critical issues with client personnel and drive difficult issues to favorable resolution.
  • Continually review with the client's senior management the performance results of the energy management program and assist the Energy Specialist to prepare formal periodic energy management performance updates
  • Lead semi-annual Energy Management Action Plan (EMAP) reviews with clients and Cenergistic leadership as part of the project deployment. Ensure that project issues, potential solutions and recommended actions are captured and pursued to completion
  • Prepare and present semi-annual updates of program performance and success to client's supervisory Boards

Qualifications
Required
  • BS or BA in applicable field of study is required.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to guide a team
  • Excellent customer-facing skills, at all levels, from C-level executives to maintenance/operations staff and custodians
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across multiple audience types
  • Effective presentation skills
  • Windows/PC skills, including competence with Microsoft Office Suite, project management, and web-based software applications
  • Valid driver's license
  • Reliable transportation and proof of automobile insurance

Preferred
  • BS in electrical or mechanical engineering, or equivalent level of experience managing in a mechanical systems environment (required).
  • 4+ years directing large-scale, multi-phase projects, preferably for deployment of energy efficiency operations (preferred).
  • Experience with a K-12 school districts, universities, or other public sector entities is a plus.
  • PMP and/or CEM certification a plus.

Work Environment & Travel
  • This is a field-based position supporting clients within an assigned territory. Travel varies based on client assignments and may include schools, universities, healthcare facilities, government buildings, and other commercial facilities.
  • This position requires travel of approximately 75% - 100%; therefore, management of time and travel arrangements is essential.
