Job description

We require a motivated Land Agent (Contract) to act as our company representative and assist with our continued growth throughout British Columbia.

We are currently looking for a Land Agent on a Contractual basis to take on a role with the following accountabilities:


  • Acquisition and Stakeholder Engagement
    • Develop and maintain rapport with landowners and stakeholders
    • Negotiate various types of land acquisition agreements
    • Execute completed acquisition documents
    • Audit of acquisition documents
    • Communicate timely, clearly and concisely, by phone, in person and email
    • Prepare and compile records of consultation within required timeframes
    • Document stakeholder concerns and escalate, as necessary
    • Maintain accurate records such as contact information, dates, and land status
      Conduct rental reviews and settling damages or addressing concerns as required
  • Company Liaison
    • Accountable for daily time and accurate reporting to manager
    • Assist other disciplines with any ongoing field work
    • Continuous and effective communication with client inside and outside land
  • Maintain Knowledge and Current Legislation
    • Understanding of regulatory consultation and notification requirements
    • Research solutions on legislative requirements
    • Commitment to continuous learning and upkeep on technologies including but notlimited to the use of Artificial Intelligence to enhance productivity, decision making, and efficiency
    • Review and understand legal agreements
    • Understanding of:
      • applicable directives, acts, and regulations
      • construction practices
      • farming practices
      • crops and livestock
  • Health & Safety
    • Adhere to and stay informed on all Health & Safety requirements as outlined in the organization's policies, procedures, and any relevant legislation
    • Follow established safety procedures and protocols (i.e. working alone, travelling, and established check-in times)
    • Use required controls to protect against potential hazards, including Personal ProtectiveEquipment (PPE)
    • Identify and report any unsafe conditions, hazards, incidents, or potential risks
    • Promote a culture of safety through active involvement, attending training, and supporting teammates


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Regular travel will be required for execution of projects based on client needs.This requirement may
change based on business needs.


Experience and Qualifications

  • Grade 12 and/or equivalent with post-secondary
  • Experience in farming, sales, or construction an asset
  • Land Agent's License or interim Land Agent's License preferred or as required based on appliable legislation
  • Commissioner for Oaths preferred or ability to obtain isrequired
  • Other certificates or designations are an asset
  • Class 5 Driver's License required
