Overview
JCCS Certified Public Accountants is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing Client Accounting & Advisory Services (CAS) team in Missoula, Montana. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working directly with business clients, improving accounting processes, and helping companies make smarter financial decisions.
At JCCS, our CAS team goes beyond traditional bookkeeping-we partner with business owners across Montana to provide financial clarity, strategic insight, and reliable accounting support.

A Day in the Life
In this role, you'll work closely with a variety of business clients, helping them stay on top of their financial information and make informed decisions. A typical day might include meeting with a business owner to review monthly financial reports, helping a client streamline their accounting processes or improve their QuickBooks setup, and preparing financial statements or reconciliations for several clients. You may collaborate with JCCS tax professionals to support planning opportunities, analyze financial data to help clients better understand their business performance, and identify ways to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency. Throughout the day, you'll serve as a trusted resource for clients, providing insight and guidance that helps them confidently run and grow their businesses.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review financial statements for business clients
  • Manage monthly and quarterly accounting processes
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Support payroll processing and related reporting
  • Assist clients with accounting system setup and improvements
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to support business decisions
  • Collaborate with tax and advisory teams to provide comprehensive client support
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting
  • Performs other duties, responsibilities and activities as assigned.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • 5+ years of accounting experience (public accounting preferred)
  • 3+ years of payroll processing experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar platforms
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and client service skills
  • Must have strong organizational and time management skills.

Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • 3+ years of financial statement preparation
  • Experience working with multiple clients or in public accounting
  • Experience with cloud-based accounting platforms.
