Job description

Client Accounting Services (CAS) Accountant

Founder-Focused Family Office / Wealth Management

Location: Remote
Compensation: Targeting $65,000–$75,000, based on experience
Industry: Family Office / Wealth Management / Client Accounting Services

The Opportunity

A rapidly growing, founder-focused wealth management and advisory firm is seeking a Client Accounting Services (CAS) Accountant to bring its outsourced client accounting function in-house.

The firm provides a family-office-style solution for entrepreneurs and business owners, bringing together wealth management, accounting, tax, and CFO advisory services under one coordinated relationship.

The firm currently serves approximately 19 advisory clients, with 12 clients already utilizing ongoing bookkeeping and accounting services. As the practice continues to grow, the goal is to build a scalable internal Client Accounting Services function capable of supporting approximately 20+ recurring clients.

This is not a transactional bookkeeping position. The CAS Accountant will take ownership of each client's books, complete the monthly close, maintain accurate financial records, and ensure financial information is ready for management reporting and advisory services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage monthly accounting for a portfolio of privately held businesses and entrepreneur/founder clients

  • Maintain client accounting records primarily within QuickBooks Online

  • Perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations

  • Review and properly classify transactions

  • Manage the complete month-end close process

  • Produce timely and accurate monthly financial statements

  • Maintain clean, accurate, and tax-ready books

  • Research and resolve accounting discrepancies

  • Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other accounting activities as needed

  • Coordinate payroll accounting for clients utilizing payroll services

  • Work closely with the firm's wealth management and CFO advisory professionals

  • Prepare client financial information for integration into management reporting and financial dashboards

  • Communicate directly with clients to obtain information and resolve accounting questions

  • Develop standardized processes and close procedures that allow the CAS practice to scale efficiently

The expectation is that this person can independently close the books each month rather than simply perform transaction entry. The completed accounting information feeds into the firm's financial dashboard and CFO advisory process.

Ideal Background
  • 3+ years of bookkeeping, accounting, or Client Accounting Services experience

  • Experience managing accounting for multiple clients simultaneously

  • Strong QuickBooks Online experience

  • Hands-on month-end close experience

  • Strong reconciliation and general ledger skills

  • Experience preparing monthly financial statements

  • CPA firm, outsourced accounting, CAS, or professional services experience strongly preferred

  • Experience working with privately held businesses and business owners is a plus

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage recurring monthly deadlines

  • Comfortable communicating directly with sophisticated clients

  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment

What Makes This Opportunity Different

This position sits at the intersection of accounting, wealth management, and CFO advisory.

Rather than simply producing financial statements and moving on to the next client, the accounting work becomes part of a larger advisory relationship designed to give entrepreneurs and business owners a coordinated view of their business finances, taxes, and personal wealth.

The firm's long-term vision is to continue bringing financial services in-house, beginning with Client Accounting Services, followed by expanded tax capabilities and eventually additional CFO-level advisory resources.

For the right accounting professional, this provides an opportunity to join early, help build the CAS function, develop deeper client relationships, and grow as the organization expands.
