Accounting Manager
 
Our client is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead core accounting operations and support the organization's financial reporting function. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role is responsible for overseeing accounting processes, driving reporting accuracy, supporting financial planning activities, and providing leadership to the accounting team. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting knowledge, leadership capabilities, and a process-improvement mindset.
 
Your success will be defined by your ability to:
  • Lead day-to-day accounting operations and ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and efficiently
  • Manage month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
  • Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and supporting analyses
  • Monitor financial performance, investigate variances, and provide actionable insights
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management initiatives
  • Oversee accounts payable activities and maintain strong vendor relationships
  • Strengthen accounting controls, processes, and reporting practices
  • Support ERP optimization efforts and other continuous improvement initiatives
  • Mentor and develop team members while fostering a collaborative environment
Your strengths include:
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience
  • Strong experience with full-cycle accounting and financial reporting
  • Ability to analyze financial results and provide business-focused recommendations
  • Experience overseeing month-end close, reconciliations, and transactional accounting activities
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills
  • CPA designation preferred; equivalent education and experience will be considered
  • Experience within construction or a project-based environment considered an assetasset
