Job description

Accounting Supervisor

We are looking for an experienced and highly capable Accounting Supervisor, to lead the accounting function within the Residential division of our real estate client. This role is responsible for overseeing bank reconciliations, managing treasury activities, and ensuring the efficient administration of utility accounting processes. The successful candidate will bring strong leadership abilities, exceptional attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous process improvement while working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Your success will be defined by your ability to:
  • Oversee daily accounting operations across Canadian and U.S. entities
  • Manage account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
  • Lead month-end and year-end close activities, including accruals, journal entries, and reporting
  • Support audits, compliance requirements, and stakeholder collaboration
  • Train, mentor, and develop team members
  • Improve, automate, and streamline accounting processes and controls
  • Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analyses for leadership
  • Assist with other accounting and finance duties as required
Your strengths include:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA an asset
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of accounting, reconciliations, reporting, and controls
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Experience with process improvements and automation initiatives
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; Yardi Voyager experience is an asset
  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
