The Accounting Clerk supports the accounting department by performing a variety of clerical and bookkeeping tasks to ensure accurate and efficient financial operations. This role is responsible for maintaining financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with reporting, reconciliation, and compliance activities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working with numbers and accounting systems.  This position will require you to work in the Corporate Headquarters office located in Overland Park, KS.  This is not a remote or hybrid role.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
  • Prepare and issue invoices, credit memos, and payment receipts
  • Reconcile bank statements and assist with general ledger maintenance
  • Maintain and update financial records, ledgers, and journals
  • Verify invoices, receipts, and financial data for accuracy; resolve discrepancies
  • Enter journal entries and ensure proper documentation of financial activities
  • Assist in preparing financial reports and summaries
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Communicate with vendors and customers regarding billing and payments
  • Respond to internal and external financial inquiries
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing required documentation
  • Other accounting duties as assigned  

Qualified candidates must have a High School Diploma or equivalent; an Associate’s Degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred

  • 1–3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or clerical experience preferred
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information
