General Summary:
The Equipment Assistant is responsible for maintaining respiratory equipment, including cleaning and assembling all equipment in the Respiratory Department. Other related clerical/administrative tasks such as stocking work areas and answering phones may also be requested.
Responsibilities:
1. Equipment: Cleans, assembles, and maintains all equipment in the respiratory departments. Properly preparing equipment for patient use. Reclaiming utilized equipment from patient rooms and soil utility closets.
2. Clerical Support: Answering telephones, directing calls, and maintaining appropriate stock levels.
3. Respiratory Staff Support: Check oxygen standards throughout assigned campus and retrieve/deliver needed devices and supplies as requested by respiratory therapists.
4. Environmental Support: Keep department orderly including but not limited to stocking, equipment expiration dates, cleaning kitchenette area.
5. Attends and participates in staff meetings.
6. All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.
