Position: Sawmill Cleanup

The primary responsibility of the cleanup person is to maintain cleanliness and safety in the plant and on plant premises.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • General cleanup of facilities
  • Use shovel, wheelbarrow, broom, blower, and other equipment as needed to keep grounds and plant clean, functional and safe
  • Split blocks with splitting maul and/or power splitter
  • Clear plug ups inside conveyors
  • Crawl around under machinery to clear out waste material
  • Run small Kubota (we will train when youโ€™re familiar with job)
  • Painting as needed
  • Follow safety procedures and guidelines
  • Communicate effectively with other members of Maintenance and Production teams
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must be able to pass drug screen including THC
  • Must be willing and able to follow directions
  • Must be able to work Saturdays
  • Experience working in sawmill preferred, but not required
  • Ability to learn and follow safety procedures and guidelines
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects
  • Ability to push, pull, twist, lift, crouch, crawl and bend as needed.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with others
  • Ability to work effectively with others
  • Must be able to read and interpret written information.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIORNMENT:

  • Continually required to stand
  • Continually required to walk
  • Occasionally required to sit
  • Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
  • Continually required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl
  • Frequently required to talk or hear
  • Continually work near moving mechanical parts
  • Occasionally work in high, precarious places
  • Continually work around airborne particles
  • Continually exposure to outside weather conditions
  • While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually very loud
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 lbs and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include: Close vision; Distance vision; Peripheral vision; Depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Specialized equipment, machines, or vehicles used: Kubota tractor, shovel, wheelbarrow, broom, blower, chainsaw
