Plumber Helper / Apprentice (1–3 Years Experience)

Benjamin Franklin Plumbing is hiring a plumber helper with 1–3 years of residential plumbing experience who is serious about their career, growth, and delivering high-level service. We are not looking for warm bodies. We are looking for a dependable, coachable professional who takes pride in their work, communicates well, works hard, follows direction, and wants to grow into a high-level residential service plumber.
If you cut corners, do sloppy work, avoid learning, or do the bare minimum, this is not the job for you. We want a detail-oriented helper who takes pride in doing the job right, supporting the lead plumber properly, and growing their skills the right way.
What We Expect

  •  Professional appearance and attitude 
  •  Willingness to learn and follow the Benjamin Franklin Plumbing franchise system 
  •  Ability to assist lead plumbers on residential service calls professionally and respectfully 
  •  Clear, confident, and courteous communication with customers 
  •  Ability to listen, take direction, and support the lead plumber efficiently 
  •  Wear floor savers in the client’s home and help protect the customer’s property 
  •  Help maintain a neat work area during repairs and service 
  •  Assist with repairs, installations, material handling, clean-up, and job preparation 
  •  Help test work before leaving to ensure everything is functioning properly 
  •  Clearly explain completed work to customers when appropriate and directed by the lead plumber 
  •  Maintain a safety-conscious attitude on the job and while driving 
  •  Always maintain cleanliness inside and outside of company vehicles 
  •  Leave the work area clean after every job, removing debris, materials, and supplies 
  •  Follow the Benjamin Franklin Plumbing franchise system and deliver clean, correct, high-quality workmanship within your role and level of training 
Requirements

  •  1 year of plumbing experience preferred 
  •  GED or high school diploma 
  •  Valid driver’s license and clean driving record 
  •  Ability to pass a background check and drug screenings, including periodic screenings throughout employment 
  •  Basic knowledge of residential plumbing systems, tools, materials, and jobsite safety 
  •  Some experience with fixtures, water heaters, drain work, leak repairs, water lines, or general plumbing installation is preferred 
  •  Ability and willingness to learn diagnostics, repair procedures, company systems, and service processes 
  •  Reliable, honest, and able to work hard without constant hand-holding 
  •  Serious about career growth and willing to complete training as needed for advancement and licensing 
  •  Availability for emergency calls and weekend rotation 
  •  Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs. and climb ladders regularly 
  •  Passion for residential plumbing service and pride in the trade 
  •  Must live within 35 miles of our Lawrenceville location 
Pay

  •  Pay based on experience ranging from $18 to $21 per hour
