Job Description
DESCRIPTION:
The Cleaner, Vehicles cleans interior and exteriors of transportation vehicles such as automobiles and buses. Interiors may be cleaned using broom, cloth, mop, vacuum cleaner, and whiskbroom; cleaning windows with water, cleansing compounds, cloth or chamois; and replenishing sanitary supplies in vehicle compartments. Exteriors may be cleaned by removing dust, grease, and oil using steam-cleaning equipment or by spraying or washing vehicles using spray equipment, brush, or sponge. The Cleaner may polish exterior of vehicle and may fumigate interior of vehicle using fumigating gases or sprays.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Cleans vehicular interiors to include driver's compartment, walls, ceilings, windows, handrails, mirrors, seats, step wells, and floors using appropriate equipment and chemicals.
  • Removes any foreign materials from vehicular interiors.
  • Vacuums and shampoos carpets.
  • Performs minor levels of exterior cleaning.
  • Assists in cleaning of work areas; assists in preparing cleaning materials.
  • May operate vehicles in yard as needed in accordance with DOT regulations.
  • Reports damage, broken items, and upholstery defects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed.

Job Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and/or Experience:
  • Must be a United States Citizen.
  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
  • Must have a valid Class C Driver's license and maintain a safe driving record.
  • Knowledge of the use of cleaning materials such as soaps, powders and cleaning chemicals.
  • One (1) year experience in janitorial, custodial, commercial car wash or related experience in fields providing knowledge, skills and abilities identified in this Job Description.

Language Skills:
  • Must have excellent verbal and written command of the English language, with the ability to read and comprehend written correspondence.
  • Able to understand/interpret verbal and written instructions to perform required duties.

General Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong organizational skills commensurate with position and ability to prioritize tasks.

Physical Demands:
  • Duties require the physical movements to clean vehicular interiors, including bending, kneeling, and crouching.
  • Regularly required to sit, walk, and stand; talk and hear; use hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel or operate equipment; reach with hands and arms; ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
