Primary Function/General Purpose of Position

The Groundskeeper is responsible for the landscaping and maintenance of the hospital grounds by general tasks, such as monitoring the grounds, picking up trash, assisting in lawn care tasks as well as facility upkeep. In addition, the Groundskeeper will assist with all meeting setups and take charge of moving offices as needed. Other tasks will be assigned when weather conditions preclude the performance of routine duties.

Essential Job Functions

  • Mows lawn and trims shrubbery/trees

  • Removes snow and ice from sidewalks, steps, and entrances using shovel and salt

  • Rakes, collects, and disposes of leaves and dispose of leaves from grounds

  • Cleans and removes debris from storm drains and grates throughout the entire property

  • Moves furniture and equipment as needed, as well as assisting with other plant operations, when dictated by workload or during inclement weather

  • Other duties as assigned
