Purpose and Summary
Help Keep Our Community Clean, Safe & Welcoming
Are you someone who takes pride in creating clean, organized spaces? Join Sheboygan County as a Custodianand play a vital role in maintaining the buildings and public spaces that serve our community every day.
In this role, you'll help ensure County facilities are safe, sanitary, and welcoming for employees, residents, and visitors. If you're reliable, detail-oriented, and enjoy hands-on work, this could be a great fit.
Essential Duties
As part of our Building Services team, you'll help maintain County facilities through a variety of custodial and cleaning responsibilities, including:
  • Cleaning and maintaining County buildings through daily tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing.
  • Sanitizing restrooms, clinical areas, and high-touch surfaces.
  • Maintaining floors and carpets using specialized cleaning equipment.
  • Collecting and disposing of trash and recyclables.
  • Restocking cleaning supplies and organizing storage areas.
  • Performing periodic deep-cleaning duties including vents, stairwells, baseboards, and other detailed cleaning tasks.
  • Assisting with opening and closing facilities to help ensure building security.
  • Identifying and reporting maintenance, repair, or safety concerns.
  • Supporting custodial operations across multiple County buildings as needed.
