About Our Family
We are a calm, private household of two adults in Weston, Massachusetts. We recently relocated from Greenwich, Connecticut and have a clear vision for how we want our home to run. Our children are older and away at school during the week, returning on weekends and holidays, which keeps the household rhythm steady and predictable.
We have always valued our household team deeply and treat those who work with us as true extensions of our family. At the same time, we hold high standards: we expect reliability, follow-through, and the kind of quiet professionalism that allows everyone to move through their day without interruption. We have had wonderful, long-tenured household staff in the past, and we are looking to build that same kind of lasting, trusting relationship here in our new home.
We already have a regular home cleaner in place who handles deep cleaning. What we are looking for is someone to take genuine ownership of the day-to-day management of the home. The goal is simple: we should not have to figure out what needs to be done each day. We want the mental load lifted, the house to simply run, and the confidence that comes from knowing it is all being handled.
Who You Are
You are the kind of person who walks into a space, clocks what needs attention, and handles it without being asked twice. You are self-directed, professional, and take genuine pride in a well-run home. You do not require constant check-ins, reminders, or hand-holding. Discretion is not just appreciated in this role but essential. Drama is not in your vocabulary. You communicate clearly and concisely when needed, and otherwise you get things done.
You bring a project manager's mindset to everything from vendor coordination to weekly meal planning, and you are organized enough to juggle multiple moving parts without losing sight of the details. You are comfortable in the kitchen, particularly with simple, health-forward preparations using meal delivery services, and you follow dietary preferences carefully and consistently. Tech-savvy and resourceful, you manage subscriptions, online orders, and household logistics with ease. Above all, you understand that the highest compliment in this role is when the household runs so smoothly it seems effortless.
Key Responsibilities
Household Management & Organization
  • Create and/or maintain household organization systems
  • Perform daily resets: dishes, tidying surfaces, making beds, freshening bathrooms, and light vacuuming of high-traffic areas
  • Prepare the home ahead of the cleaners' visits
  • Manage seasonal swaps for clothing, bedding, and décor
  • Coordinate and prepare donation drop-offs
  • Handle packing and unpacking for family travel
  • Assist with occasional event, holiday, or guest preparation
  • Change batteries, light bulbs, and smoke detectors, or coordinate with vendors to complete these tasks

Inventory & Errands
  • Maintain running household supply lists
  • Monitor and restock pantry, refrigerator, and household supplies
  • Oversee household orders and subscriptions, primarily through Amazon
  • Handle returns, dry cleaning drop-offs and pickups, and gift shopping as needed
  • Manage incoming mail and packages, including breaking down boxes

Meal Planning & Prep
  • Plan weekly lunches and dinners (5x/week) for two adults, submitting meal plans for quick family approval
  • Prepare meals using meal delivery services (such as Green Chef and local options); comfortable with simple preparations including chicken, salmon, shrimp, and other seafood
  • Follow a Mediterranean and pescatarian dietary preference; no red meat
  • Manage grocery shopping via online ordering and delivery (Whole Foods preferred)
  • Maintain a clean, organized kitchen after each use

Laundry & Linen Care
  • Wash, fold, and organize family laundry
  • Handle ironing, steaming, and special garment care as needed
  • Manage linen rotation and bedding changes
  • Keep laundry areas tidy and well stocked

Vehicle Management
  • Schedule and take the family vehicle in for routine maintenance
  • Arrange car washes as needed
  • Track registration and insurance timelines

Vendor & Property Oversight
  • Coordinate with established cleaners, contractors, and landscapers as needed
  • Schedule and track routine maintenance, repairs, and seasonal upkeep
  • Ensure household needs are followed through to completion

Deep Cleaning & Special Projects
  • Occasional refrigerator cleaning
  • Light refresh of entry, mudroom, or garage as needed
  • Organizational projects including closets, pantry, and storage areas

Administrative & Personal Assistant Support
  • Maintain awareness of household schedules and coordinate appointments and events
  • Track receipts and expenses incurred in the course of the role
  • Schedule car service for family members as needed
  • Travel planning and logistics support (nice to have, not a priority)
