CLC, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Academic/GED Instructor to support opportunity youth in achieving their educational goals and preparing for meaningful careers. This role is ideal for an educator who believes in second chances, values individualized learning, and thrives in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.

Position Overview

The Academic/GED Instructor is responsible for delivering instruction in reading, writing, and mathematics, as well as providing comprehensive GED preparation and academic support. Instruction is tailored to meet the diverse learning needs, styles, and skill levels of each participant.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach reading, writing, mathematics, and GED preparation in a small-group or individualized setting.

• Modify and tailor curriculum to accommodate different learning styles, literacy levels, and program requirements.

• Assess participant progress and develop individualized learning plans.

• Collaborate with construction instructors, case managers, and counseling staff to support participant success.

• Create a positive, respectful classroom culture that encourages persistence, growth, and active participation.

• Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and assessment results.

Qualifications

 

• Experience teaching youth or young adults, preferably in alternative education or workforce development settings.

• Knowledge of GED preparation, adult basic education, or secondary education curriculum.

• Strong communication, classroom management, and instructional skills.

• Ability to build supportive relationships with young adults from diverse backgrounds.
