Description
The Growing Years of Cary is a licensed childcare center seeking Assistant Teachers to support the following age groups:
  • Preschool

To be QUALIFIED for this position, we require a high school diploma, completion of early childhood education credentials or 6 credits worth of early childhood education courses or their equivalent, and the ability to pass all background checks. A plus if you have previous childcare experience!
Required Shift: Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 6:00pm OR 8:30am - 5:30pm
Compensation: $15-18/hr, based on education and experience

Main Job Responsibilities for Assistant Teachers:
  • Assist the lead teacher with all aspects of the classroom in a manner consistent with the philosophy and goals of the center.
  • Implement activities that encourage each child's growth in the areas of emotion, social, cognitive, creative, and physical development.
  • Take direction, accept constructive criticism, and feedback, and make improvements and changes as necessary for the betterment of the quality of the program.
  • Create and maintain an environment that is clean and safe for all children.
  • Establishing a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children.
  • Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
