Job description

Experience a rewarding career supporting students with special needs in a welcoming school community near Waterford, WI. This full-time, contract position for the 2026-2027 school year offers you the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across elementary, middle, and high school classrooms. As a valued team member, you'll work 35 hours per week with diverse caseloads and play a vital role in fostering growth and achievement for students with behavioral and intellectual disabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Active or in-process paraprofessional certification through the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI)
  • One of the following: an associate degree, 48 hours of completed college coursework, or a passing score on the WorkKeys exam (exam reimbursement available)
  • Experience or passion for working with students with special needs, including those with behavioral challenges and intellectual disabilities
  • Ability to collaborate with teachers, therapists, and school staff
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to learn new strategies
  • Must provide a supervisor reference prior to interviewing

Responsibilities:

  • Provide classroom and one-on-one support to students with special needs
  • Assist with implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention strategies
  • Support students in academic, social, and daily living activities
  • Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment
