Job description

Job Summary: Heritage Classical Academy is seeking a qualified Facilities Specialist. Applicants should possess a vibrant Christian testimony demonstrating a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Applicants should also fully support HCA's Statement of Faith and be excited about the great tradition of classical Christian education. The ideal applicant has knowledge and experience in the fields of maintenance, groundskeeping, and other trades.
Biblical Expectations: All employees of Heritage Classical Academy possess a Christian testimony demonstrating a personal, active, and growing relationship with Jesus Christ. They also fully support HCA's Statement of Faith and support the mission to Cultivate Lifelong Learners Who Think and Live for Christ. They will also be involved in a local church that aligns with the mission and vision of HCA.
Job Requirements:
  • Full support of Heritage's Statement of Faith, Mission, and Vision statements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs, including Outlook
  • Degree preferred, but not required
  • Strong problem solving abilities
  • Experience in facilities maintenance, trades, and/or handyman experience
  • Ability to communicate well and manage volunteers, vendors when needed
  • Main location for this position is Peninsula Campus, with possible work at Pepper Pike Campus as needed.
  • Technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, security and fire systems is a plus.
  • Problem solving skills for unexpected repairs and emergency situations.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Conduct oneself with Christ-like professional behavior
  • Perform daily maintenance inspections before and after school
  • Troubleshoot maintenance issues that arise
  • Perform basic handyman and maintenance procedures
  • Oversee third party vendors, such as janitorial, HVAC, electric, water, sanitation, etc.
  • Manage volunteers to implement and oversee campus projects
  • Support faculty and staff with facilities/campus needs such as setting up/tearing down for events, classroom needs
  • Monitor the cleanliness of the grounds and facilities
  • Monitor supply inventory; order supplies as needed
  • Support campus safety such as traffic flow, parking, building alarms, safety compliance, surveillance, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned
