What are 'Class A' drivers?

This license allows them to operate large vehicles such as tractor-trailers, semi-trucks, and other combinations of vehicles with a gross combination weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 pounds or more, provided the towed vehicle is heavier than 10,000 pounds. Class A drivers are qualified to transport goods across long distances and may be required to pass additional endorsements for specific types of cargo. This license enables employment in freight transportation, logistics, and long-haul trucking industries.

What pays more, CDL A or B?
