Job description

American Driver is recruiting in Athens, AL for Class A drivers who are new to the industry and ready to start building a career in OTR trucking.

This is a full-time W2 position. Training is paid, the freight is consistent, and the equipment is late-model.

Training:

  • 4–6 weeks with a dedicated mentor, fully paid
  • Hands-on from day one — live loads, real deadlines
  • HOS, ELD, pre/post trip inspections all covered
  • Weekly pay from the start
  • Solo driving begins at $0.56 CPM after completion

Freight and Miles:

  • No-touch dry van
  • 60% drop and hook
  • 2,200–2,500 miles per week
  • Eastern routes, consistent year-round freight

Pay Structure:

  • $0.56–$0.65 CPM depending on experience
  • Weekly take-home typically $1,200–$1,500
  • Additional pay for stops, layovers, and breakdowns
  • Pay increase every six months
  • $300 orientation pay
  • Direct deposit every Friday

Home Time:

  • Every two weeks, scheduled in advance

Equipment:

  • Freightliner or Kenworth (2022–2025)
  • APUs on all assigned trucks
