What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Class A Driver Trainee, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Class A Driver Trainee, you need a valid commercial learner’s permit (CLP), a clean driving record, and basic knowledge of vehicle safety and road regulations. Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs), GPS navigation systems, and pre-trip inspection procedures is typically required, along with pursuing a CDL Class A license. What can I expect during the training period as a Class A Driver Trainee?

As a Class A Driver Trainee, you will typically undergo a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on driving practice under the supervision of experienced trainers. What are Class A Driver Trainees?

Class A Driver Trainees are individuals undergoing training to become licensed commercial truck drivers qualified to operate vehicles that require a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). These trainees learn essential driving skills, safety regulations, and federal/state laws associated with operating large vehicles such as tractor-trailers. The position typically involves both classroom instruction and hands-on driving experience under the supervision of a licensed instructor.
