Job description

Viridian Enterprises LLC is recruiting for four confidential Labor & Employment Attorney opportunities with law firm clients in California. Current openings range from Associate through Senior Counsel and Partner level and include both remote and hybrid work arrangements.
We are interested in attorneys from a variety of employer-side labor and employment backgrounds. Candidates are not expected to qualify for all four opportunities. Experience, seniority, practice focus, location, business development history, and career interests will be considered in determining which opportunity may be the strongest fit.
Opportunity 1 – Senior Labor & Employment Counsel
Location: Los Angeles, CA – Hybrid
Base Salary: $280,000 – $305,000

Our Client is seeking a senior California employment litigator capable of independently managing sophisticated matters from inception through resolution.

Ideal experience includes:

  • 9+ years of California labor and employment litigation experience

  • Significant wage and hour experience

  • PAGA and class action litigation

  • Single-plaintiff employment defense

  • Depositions, dispositive motions, witness preparation, and courtroom experience

  • Independent case management with limited oversight

  • Experience supervising or mentoring attorneys

  • Active California Bar membership in good standing

A portable book of business is not required for this opportunity.



Opportunity 2 – Senior Employment Defense Attorney
Location: California – Remote
Base Salary: $230,000 – $300,000

Our Client is seeking a senior employment defense attorney with substantial California litigation experience who can independently manage complex matters and provide strategic advice to employer clients.

Ideal experience includes:

  • 10+ years of employment law experience

  • Strong employer-side employment litigation defense background

  • Significant PAGA experience

  • Wage and hour matters and compliance audits

  • Employment policies and workplace compliance

  • Civil litigation and trial experience

  • Experience representing public-sector, institutional, or educational employers

  • Strong research, writing, analytical, and negotiation skills

  • Active California Bar membership in good standing



Opportunity 3 – Labor & Employment Associate Attorney
Location: California – Remote/Hybrid
Base Salary: $130,000 – $170,000

Our Client is seeking an Associate Attorney with a strong civil defense litigation foundation who is interested in taking meaningful ownership of an active caseload.

Ideal experience includes:

  • 2+ years of civil defense litigation experience

  • Labor and employment experience preferred

  • Drafting pleadings, motions, and written discovery

  • Taking and defending depositions

  • Independent case management

  • Hearings, mediation, and trial preparation

  • Strong legal writing, analytical, and communication skills

  • Active California Bar membership in good standing

Candidates with relevant experience in other areas of civil or insurance defense litigation may also be considered.



Opportunity 4 – Labor & Employment Partner
Location: Los Angeles, CA – Hybrid
Base Salary: $200,000 – $230,000

Our Client is seeking an entrepreneurial senior employment attorney interested in growing a California employment practice and client base.

Ideal experience includes:

  • Significant California employment law experience

  • Employment advice and counseling

  • Employment litigation

  • Strong client-facing and relationship-management capabilities

  • Demonstrated business development and client origination

  • Experience independently managing sophisticated employment matters

  • Entrepreneurial approach to practice development

  • Active California Bar membership in good standing

An established portable book of business is required for this opportunity. Additional compensation may be available based on business generation and other applicable factors.



General Qualifications

Depending on the opportunity, candidates should possess:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) required

  • Active Bar membership and good standing in the applicable jurisdiction

  • Active California Bar membership where required

  • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral communication skills

  • Ability to effectively manage matters, deadlines, and client relationships

  • Employer-side or defense experience for litigation-focused opportunities

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

  • Leadership, mentoring, or business development experience as appropriate to seniority

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States

Certain opportunities require graduation from an ABA-accredited law school. Current opportunities do not provide employment-based immigration sponsorship.

Additional Compensation

Certain opportunities may include discretionary bonuses, productivity or performance incentives, or business-generation compensation in addition to the stated base salary. Compensation structures vary by opportunity and will be discussed in connection with the applicable position.
