Job description

The Opportunity

The Director of RCM & Personal Care will own the long-term product vision and business outcomes for RCM platform capabilities that support billing, claims, collections, payer connectivity, clearinghouse integrations, automation, and scalable technical architecture and the strategy and roadmap for HCHB Personal Care, including scheduling, caregiver time and task management, EVV compliance, authorization management, utilization visibility, and reimbursement workflows.

This role requires a strategic product leader who can operate across customer needs, market dynamics, regulatory requirements, business objectives, and technical delivery.

The Director will partner closely with Engineering, Architecture, UX, Operations, Sales, Implementation, Customer Success, Support, and executive leadership to define priorities, align stakeholders, and deliver measurable value. This leader will be expected to shape the roadmap, influence investment decisions, guide product managers and cross-functional teams, and drive modernization through API-first capabilities, automation, AI/ML-enabled experiences, and resilient platform design.

The Profile we are looking for:

  • Communicates with precision and influence, equally effective in engineering standups, customer conversations, and executive briefings.

  • Balances long-term strategy with near-term execution discipline without losing sight of either.

  • Moves forward with conviction under ambiguity while remaining genuinely open to being wrong.

What You Will Do

Platform Strategy & Product Ownership

  • Lead the product strategy, roadmap, and execution for HCHB's Revenue Cycle Platform, with accountability for platform capabilities that support billing, claims, collections, payer connectivity, clearinghouse integrations, and revenue cycle operations.

  • Lead the product strategy, roadmap, and business outcomes for HCHB Personal Care applications, with accountability for capabilities supporting scheduling, caregiver time and task management, EVV compliance, authorization management, utilization visibility, reauthorization workflows, and multiple reimbursement models.

  • Own and advance the application and platform workstream in alignment with company priorities, customer needs, technical architecture, and measurable business outcomes.

  • Drive modernization of the platform through modular services, API-first design, configurable workflows, partner tooling, automation, AI-assisted workflows, and scalable platform architecture.

  • Define and prioritize capabilities that improve cash acceleration, reduce denials, lower days sales outstanding, increase first-pass resolution, improve billing team productivity, and strengthen compliance readiness.

  • Lead discovery and solutioning for end-to-end revenue workflows, including charge capture, claims creation and submission, edits and scrubbing, payer rules, eligibility and benefits, prior authorization support, remittance and ERA posting, denials and appeals, patient responsibility, reconciliation, and audit readiness.

  • Apply deep understanding of post-acute operations, including Home Health, Hospice, and Personal Care/EVV, to ensure RCM capabilities account for clinical documentation, visit verification, payer rules, regulatory requirements, and reimbursement complexity.

  • Establish, monitor, and communicate success metrics, including claim acceptance rates, denial rates, remittance posting accuracy, throughput, cycle times, user adoption, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

  • Balance near-term delivery needs with long-term platform scalability, maintainability, security, performance, observability, and reliability.

Team Leadership, Cross-Functional Execution & Change Management

  • Lead and develop a team of 3-5 Product Managers, setting clear expectations, investing in their growth, and creating an environment where accountability and development go hand in hand.

  • Partner with the executive team to keep team structure, capacity, and skills aligned to strategic priorities as the organization evolves.

 Cross-Functional Execution & Change Management

  • Serve as the primary product voice in Rev Cycle Platform decisions, cutting through misalignment between Engineering roadmaps, Revenue commitments, and customer expectations.

  • Drive coordinated execution across Engineering, Revenue, Clinical, and Compliance, aligning priorities and creating conditions for teams to move with clarity and confidence.

  • Lead through organizational change with credibility and care, building shared ownership and lasting momentum across functions.

  • Translate product strategy into clear, time-bound delivery plans that give engineering direction and executives confidence.

PM Judgment

  • Know when AI and ML are the right answer and when they are not and apply that judgment rigorously before any capability investment is made.

  • Use AI tools to compress research, surface signals, and accelerate synthesis while owning the calls that technology cannot make.

  • Make prioritization criteria explicit and repeatable across the team so that decision quality scales with execution pace.

What Success Looks Like

In the first 90 days:

  • Earn trust quickly across Product, Engineering, Architecture, and customer-facing teams.

  • Build a clear understanding of the RCM and Personal Care platform, customer workflows, roadmap, and technical dependencies.
  • Bring clarity to key opportunities, risks, tradeoffs, and priorities.
  • Create momentum around the highest-impact platform initiatives.
  • Align stakeholders on near-term priorities, success measures, and longer-term direction.

Sustained success:

  • Drive measurable improvement in customer revenue cycle outcomes and platform performance.

  • Establish a clear platform strategy that aligns customer needs, business goals, and technical modernization.

  • Deliver scalable, interoperable platform capabilities that support automation, partner connectivity, and long-term growth.

  • Build strong cross-functional alignment, disciplined execution, and consistent outcome measurement across the RCM and Personal Care workstreams.

  • A team that is visibly growing, with PMs developing into stronger leaders and the function earning credibility across the organization.

What You Will Bring

Required:

  • 10+ years of product management experience, with at least 5 years focused on data platforms, APIs, or interoperability in enterprise SaaS.

  • Demonstrated experience in healthcare revenue cycle (preferably software-side), including claims/clearinghouse/payer integrations and revenue operations.

  • Strong technical product management capability: API-first thinking, integration design, ability to collaborate deeply with engineers and understand system constraints/tradeoffs.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence without authority, and ship outcomes in ambiguous problem spaces.
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication; strong stakeholder management.
  • Strong technical fluency, able to engage meaningfully with platform engineers and make informed architecture trade-offs.

  • Comfortable engaging externally with customers, prospects, and partners as a credible product and data leader.

Preferred:

  • Senior product experience in post-acute (Home Health, Hospice, Personal Care/EVV), ideally within an EHR ecosystem.

  • Direct experience with healthcare transaction standards and interoperability relevant to RCM and adjacent workflows, such as X12/EDI (837/835/270/271), HL7, and familiarity with FHIR where applicable.

  • Experience modernizing legacy platforms (migration strategies, incremental refactors, deprecation plans, platform governance).

  • Familiarity with AI/automation opportunities in RCM (worklist prioritization, denial prediction, anomaly detection, document classification, assisted posting/coding support), including responsible data/security considerations.

  • Strong integration/partner ecosystem background (vendor selection, contract/roadmap alignment, joint delivery).

  • Prior experience as a software engineer or in a highly technical role
