The Client Claims Associate is a detail-oriented, customer-focused role within Nichols Cauley's Partners Risk Services (PRS) practice, central to the firm's claims management operations. This position serves as a liaison between clients, carriers, and internal teams, managing the full lifecycle of insurance claims from initial notification through resolution.

This role ensures timely and accurate claims processing while maintaining the highest standards of client service, working closely with carriers and colleagues across the practice to protect client interests and support Nichols Cauley's Manage. Protect. Grow. approach.

Claims Administration & Processing

  • Receive and log incoming claims from clients and carriers.
  • Input claim information into the agency management system (AMS) and carrier portals.
  • Prepare and submit required claim documentation to insurance carriers.
  • Track claim status and maintain organized claim files, both digital and physical.
  • Process claim payments and coordinate reimbursements to clients.

Client & Carrier Communication

  • Respond to client inquiries regarding claim status and coverage questions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned claims, providing regular updates.
  • Communicate with insurance carriers to expedite claim processing.
  • Document all client interactions and correspondence.
  • Address client concerns professionally and escalate complex issues when needed.

Coverage Analysis & Documentation

  • Review policies to verify coverage applicability and limitations.
  • Identify potential coverage gaps or exclusions.
  • Prepare clear explanations of coverage determinations for clients.
  • Assist with denial management and appeal processes.
  • Maintain thorough claim documentation for audit and compliance purposes.

Operational Support

  • Meet established turnaround times for claim acknowledgment and resolution.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure data integrity across all systems.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end claim reconciliation.
  • Support compliance with regulatory requirements and carrier guidelines.
  • Participate in training programs and stay current on industry changes.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of claims processing or insurance customer service experience.
  • Proficiency with insurance agency management systems (AMS360 preferred) and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
