Job description

Duties Description The Plant Utility Engineer 1, on an assigned shift in a heating and/or air-conditioning plant, or in a single or multi-building facility, operates and maintains mechanical and electrical equipment providing heat, hot water, ventilation, air-conditioning and electrical distribution. Minimum Qualifications Transfer Opportunity: NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent competitive service as a Plant Utilities Engineer 1 (G-14) and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS) Opportunity Non-Competitive: To be eligible for a NY HELPS appointment, the candidate must meet the minimum qualifications listed on the Civil service exam announcements

The preferred candidate will have proficient knowledge experience in spread sheets for tracking of utility consumption accounts and systems.
