Job description

GeoQuest USA, Inc. (formerly The Reinforced Earth Company) is recognized as the inventor and market leader of the MSE (Mechanically Stabilized Earth) retaining wall industry. The company provides the design and supply of materials of proprietary retaining wall systems and earth related technologies to contractors and owners for use in civil engineering. Our company works as a sub-contractor/material supplier on DOT and privately owned projects. We perform all duties associated with our jobs from sales, marketing, civil engineering/design, supply, and construction support.
We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive accounting student interested in interning in a fast-paced environment under mentorship with our Accounting Professionals. The Accounting Intern will be responsible for practicing their accounting knowledge and skills in a professional setting. Their duties include supporting our accounting team with various accounting projects and tasks as they gain more confidence within their desired industry.
Responsibilities may include:
  • Project analysis; variance analysis for "return on experience"
  • Margin fade report
  • Automate scorecards - power BI skills
  • Digitalize documentation (reduce physical storage costs)
  • Process writing - document SOPs
  • Mapping exercise for forecast files
  • Ad hoc projects

Education / Skills / Experience:
  • Must either be a recent graduate or in the process of completing a bachelor's degree in finance or accounting.
  • Must have completed introductory accounting courses and have a basic understanding of financial and accounting principles.
  • Intermediate or higher level of proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments or projects simultaneously to drive results
  • Ability to interact professionally with vendors, clients, and internal teams to constructively resolve issues and resolve problems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and resolution skills

Work Environment / Physical Demands:
The responsibilities will be carried out in a traditional office environment under traditional office conditions. Employee will be familiar with and observe safety and security procedures and use equipment and materials properly.
