The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing electrical engineering projects from conception to completion. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, power, lighting, and effective communication skills. Project types include: Utilities, municipal infrastructure, marinas, agriculture, parks and recreation, site and roadway illumination, private power distribution, and more.

Responsibilities

Your mission:

  • Oversee construction projects to ensure they are completed according to the contract. This includes observing construction, reviewing and signing documents, and communicating with MSA staff, contractors, and clients.
  • Communicates professionally with clients, contractors and builds ongoing business relationships
  • Perform engineering calculations for the analysis, study, and design of specific project aspects.
  • Utilize electronic tools such as GIS, models, BIM, for project analysis, study, and design.
  • Assist in creating cost estimates for projects.
  • Instruct technicians on drafting for the projects you design.
  • Conduct field investigations or inspections ranging from visual observations to detailed measurements using specialized equipment.
Qualifications

WHAT YOU BRING

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Architectural Engineering or related field.

Experience

  • Four years of relevant, post-graduate mechanical engineering experience 

Required knowledge and skills

  • Knowledge of the philosophies, principles, practices, and techniques of engineering
  • Proficiency with digital tools, which may include Microsoft Office, GIS, BIM, or others
  • Advanced interpersonal skills for facilitating relationships with colleagues
  • Creative problem-solving skills to solve new and challenging problems
  • Ability to mentor less experienced staff

License

  • Professional Engineering License Required.

The salary for this position ranges from $79,000 to $126,500 per year, commensurate with experience.  Higher compensation within this range will be paid to candidates with significant experience and exceptional qualifications.
