Role description

Arcadis’ Ottawa office is seeking a Senior Civil Project Engineer to join our growing team. This individual will lead and support team members in delivering solutions for land/site development projects, work directly with clients and stakeholders, and contribute to business growth in the Ottawa area.

This dynamic and cohesive team operates with a hybrid work style, meeting in the office on Mondays and Wednesdays. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in these office meetings and be prepared to travel to project sites or client meetings when necessary. Strong technical skills and effective communication are essential for this client-facing role.

Role accountabilities
  • Manage land/site development projects (small to large scale), including mixed-use, commercial, and industrial development projects within the Ottawa area
  • Provide strategic direction and management to project teams, identifying key technical issues/questions at the beginning of projects
  • Be the project point person and work directly with the client on behalf of the client
  • Ensure engineering designs comply with current applicable regulations
  • Engage in business development, identify and pursue business development opportunities
Qualifications & Experience
  • 9 or more years of relevant experience in land/site development or municipal engineering, focused on the Ottawa area
  • Team-oriented personality who likes to be part of a cohesive team, effectively working with a range of personalities and skill levels
  • Project experience working directly with clients and stakeholders
  • Well networked with the sector to source potential new projects and opportunities to grow the Arcadis civil team in the Ottawa area
  • Proficient with Civil 3D, Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication skills - verbal and written communication skills
  • Have a work history that demonstrates a strong work ethic, effectively managing multiple tasks and priorities
  • University degree in Civil Engineering program or recognized equivalent
