Staff Water Civil Engineer (with Field Experience)
Location: Chicago, IL Type: Contract role with strong potential to transition into fulltime employment

This is a contract role with a strong potential to transition into fulltime employment, offering an excellent opportunity to establish yourself with a highly regarded company.

We are seeking a Staff Water Civil Engineer to join our team and contribute to the planning, design, and execution of waterrelated infrastructure projects. This role involves supporting complex projects that require technical expertise, collaboration, and attention to detail. You will play an important role in delivering highquality engineering solutions for municipal, industrial, and environmental water systems.
Candidates must have U.S. work experience and onsite construction experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform civil engineering design for water infrastructure projects, including pipelines, pump stations, and treatment facilities.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, and detailed design drawings.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Conduct site evaluations and provide technical recommendations.
  • Review and ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
  • Support project management activities, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning.
  • Participate in quality assurance and quality control processes for engineering deliverables.
  • Provide onsite support during construction phases to ensure design integrity and resolve technical issues.
Qualifications
  • Education & Experience (Required):
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related degree from an ABETaccredited program and 3 years of civil engineering experience (consulting preferred).
    • OR Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or related Engineering Technology from an ABETaccredited program plus FE exam completion and 3 years of civil engineering experience (consulting preferred).
    • OR Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering and 2 years of civil engineering experience (consulting preferred).
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Strong knowledge of standard civil engineering techniques and procedures.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
    • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problemsolving skills.
  • Certification: Engineers in Training (EIT) Certification preferred.
  • Additional Requirements:
    • U.S. work experience required.
    • Onsite construction experience required.
