Job description

Job Description Contract Administrator III Location: Tampa, FL (Midtown Office) Schedule: Hybrid - 4 days onsite / 1 day remote Pay Rate: $40-$45/hr Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Contract Administrator III to support procurement and contract administration activities for complex engineering and construction projects. This position is responsible for managing the full contract lifecycle for high-value, high-risk contracts supporting electric generation, transmission, distribution, and natural gas infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have 3-5+ years of experience in contracts and procurement within the construction and engineering industry, with strong negotiation skills and the ability to work independently while partnering with project management, legal, risk management, and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities Manage the full lifecycle of engineering, construction, and engineered equipment contracts Develop procurement strategies and contracting plans for capital and maintenance projects Review technical specifications and scopes of work for contractual completeness Advise project teams on contractual risk and procurement best practices Prepare bid packages, contract documents, commercial terms, and general conditions Coordinate commercial evaluations alongside technical evaluations Lead contract negotiations with suppliers and contractors Prepare contract award recommendations and execute final agreements Administer contracts throughout project execution, including: Change orders Claims and dispute resolution Invoice review Contract compliance Contract closeout Partner with Legal and Risk Management on contract issues Evaluate contractor qualifications and commercial capabilities Ensure procurement activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies Build and maintain supplier relationships, including Supplier Diversity initiatives Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for procurement processes Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders on procurement policies and procedures Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field 6+ years of experience in one or more of the following: Contract Administration Procurement Construction Contracts Engineering Contracts Project Engineering Project Management Quantity Surveying Experience negotiating and administering high-value engineering or construction contracts Strong understanding of contractual risk management Excellent negotiation and communication skills Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Preferred Qualifications ERP or SAP experience Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system experience Experience with SMART by GEP is highly preferred Utility or energy industry experience Knowledge of procurement regulations and compliance requirements Preferred Background This role is an excellent fit for candidates with experience such as: Contract Administrator III Senior Contract Administrator Construction Contract Administrator Procurement Specialist (Construction) Strategic Sourcing Specialist Contracts & Procurement Specialist Capital Projects Procurement Specialist Engineering Procurement Specialist Supply Chain Contract Specialist Commercial Contracts Manager (Individual Contributor)
