The Bay Area office of Coffman Engineers was established in 2014 after Coffman had been providing engineering services in this area for many years. Job Description
Coffman Engineers is seeking a highly skilled, self-motivated Civil Engineer with three (3) to six (6) years of experience providing comprehensive civil engineering services, from initial feasibility through design, permitting and construction support for our Bay Area office. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, have a desire to work and grow with a multidiscipline engineering team, and be willing to have fun.
We are looking for people who work effectively with all personality types, is interested in developing close relationships with our great clients, and who desires to grow professionally and stay involved in the activities and exciting trends in the industry. The position will involve a mix of technical design and consulting, construction support, and new project scoping and proposal writing. We work in tight-knit teams that support each other and are managed with a healthy work-life balance that is focused on development and caring for the whole person.
The position is hybrid where the staff are in-person three days a week (minimum) and have the option to work remotely two days a week. The optional remote workdays of the week are currently Monday and Friday. These guidelines are reassessed periodically.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Approximate Base Salary - $83k-105k based on experience
  • Paid overtime at 1.0 times hourly rate
  • Competitive end of year discretionary bonus based on company/team/personal performance
  • Hybrid Work Schedule (subject to change)
  • 401k with maximum of 5% Contribution Matching for 9% Employee Contribution

Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
  • Civil Engineer-In-Training (E.I.T.), required
  • Registration as a Civil Professional Engineer (P.E.), preferred
  • 3 to 6 years of experience in civil design, permitting and construction assistance in a variety of market sectors related to site development
  • Experience in civil design, land development, grading, drainage, site utilities, storm water compliance, ADA accessibility, and other associated improvements
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Experience in a multi-discipline setting preferred
  • The ability to work on multiple tasks
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Team player with the ability to think critically and solve problems
  • The motivation to learn the latest technologies and practices to enhance your professional career
