Project Overview:
Bechtel's Manufacturing and Technology (M&T) Business Unit is designing, building and commissioning a semiconductor fab in Clay, NY. Job Summary:
In this role, you will conduct field investigations and participate in the design, development, modification, and evaluation of civil engineering components and processes. You will assist with design support at a project site, including resolution of construction queries, rfis and ncrs. As required, you will assist with preparation of construction drawings, project schedules, models, calculations, material requisitions, studies, reports, presentations, and proposals. Your assistance will contribute to civil/structural designs that meet project requirements. #LI-ME1
Major Responsibilities:
  • Participates in field walkdowns and investigations as engineering support to construction
  • Participates in the design, development, modification and evaluation of civil sitework components and processes utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs) and Design Control Check List (DCCL) and Design Review Notices (DRNs)
  • Plans civil layout, prepares detailed civil engineering design and layout drawings for small structures, portions of major buildings, roadways, railroads, etc. Ensures designs are compliant with local and national regulations before and during construction
  • Originates civil engineering deliverables, such as drainage and road design calculations, specifications, and material requisitions
  • Prepares building material interface details for review by senior personnel
  • Participates in reviews and recommends approval of design drawings and data for compliance with requirements
  • Prepares civil/structural designs and construction drawings using 2-D / 3-D computer aided design (CAD), presentation graphics and civil models and codes
  • Prepares procurement and subcontract requisition documents and performs associated technical bid evaluations with award recommendations
  • Provides technical assistance to other Civil/Structural personnel and interacts with project functions, the customer, and regulatory agency personnel in the resolution of complex regulatory issues and industry codes and standards

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience
