This Opportunity:
  • Heads up the survey crew and oversees the completion of field surveys which includes boundary, topographic, land title surveys and construction staking on a wide variety of types of projects.
  • Assist with data reduction, digital terrain modeling / surface creation, and preparation of right-of-way plats, certified survey maps and boundary surveys as well as many other types of survey documents
  • Technical assistance with writing and interpretation of easement descriptions along with courthouse research to gather property information
  • This opportunity is open to candidates residing in the following areas: Rochester, MN

Essential Qualifications:
  • Well-developed understanding of field survey methods, plan reading and calculations.
  • Must have good communication skills and be able to work independently
  • Ability to walk and climb over rough terrain and carry up to 50 pounds and with stand working outside for up to 8-12 hours in varying temperatures
  • Ability to travel as needed for projects, team meetings and overnight stays to support out-of-town work
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two (2) years of field and/or office survey experience
  • Experience in basic surveying procedures including boundary / land surveys, topographic surveys, construction staking methods using Total Stations and Global Positioning Systems (GPS)
  • Experience in drafting, completing computations and an understanding of plans and easement descriptions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Field experience with Trimble Survey Equipment is a plus
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation, Trimble Business Center and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.).

This position requires an MVR records check verifying that you possess a valid driver's license and a driving record which meets the requirements of SEH's Driving Program.
