Job Description
The incumbent in this position is responsible for coordinating and supervising the design and planning of transportation facilities and/or projects, using general knowledge of basic Civil Engineering theories, principles and methods. The individual ensures compliance with government standards and regulations for roadway design and construction and propose changes to existing roadways to improve the flow of traffic and to remedy safety concerns. Develops project cost estimates and coordinates scheduling for construction or repair of Tribal roadways. The incumbent supervises the work of the Transportation Civil Engineers and coordinates and assigns workflows. Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or similar area of specialty is required. State of Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license is required. A minimum of three (7) years of experience working as Civil Engineer in transportation projects or related area is required. Knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the Civil Engineering and Transportation field is required. Knowledge of Microstation, GEOpak and/or Stormwater Management Design is highly desired. Possession of a valid Florida Driver's License is required. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft, AutoCAD, Water and Sewer Modeling Software and ESRI (GIS) software packages. Must be able to travel to all Seminole Tribe of Florida facilities and to work a flexible work schedules, including evenings, holidays and weekends.
