Senior Project Manager / Senior Civil Engineer

Municipal Infrastructure & Transportation Engineering


Location: Western Suburbs of Chicago, IL

Work Arrangement: Primarily Onsite with Limited Remote Flexibility

Compensation: $130,000+ Base Salary, Bonus Potential, Profit Sharing


About the Opportunity


A well-established municipal engineering consulting firm is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager / Senior Civil Engineer to help lead and deliver infrastructure projects for local government clients throughout the Chicagoland area.


This is not a traditional project management role. We are looking for an experienced civil engineering professional who has successfully led both engineering design and construction projects and is ready to take on greater leadership responsibilities. The ideal candidate will oversee projects, mentor engineers, support client relationships, and play a key role in the future growth of the organization.

What You'll Do

  • Lead municipal infrastructure projects from planning through construction
  • Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, and deliverables
  • Oversee roadway, utility, drainage, water, and wastewater improvement projects
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering staff
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers and project engineers
  • Conduct project reviews and ensure quality standards are maintained
  • Coordinate with contractors, municipalities, public works departments, and stakeholders
  • Prepare project updates and communicate progress to clients
  • Support construction activities through site visits and field oversight
  • Assist in developing and maintaining long-term client relationships


What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License required
  • 5+ years of municipal engineering experience, 10+ years preferred
  • Experience managing or leading civil engineering projects
